I got asked the other day whether or not I meal plan. The answer is yes and no. In reality, I meal plan some weeks and then other weeks, I just decide on the day, depending on what I feel like eating that night. I have created a master pantry list to ensure I keep a well stocked pantry and fridge/freezer. Provided I have a wide variety of ingredients on offer, I can whip up a meal at the last minute.
I try to make my own stock, breadcrumbs, sorbet etc and in spring/summer, our large vegetable garden and fruit trees keep us well stocked. I use fresh where possible so I'm happy to report that despite the frost, my parsley is still going strong. The same cannot be said for my basil!
